ABOUT CHIP KELLY

Chip Kelly has been involved in ministry since 1978, when he helped start a small neighborhood group for high school students. In two years, that group grew from six members to over 100, leading many students into becoming followers of Christ. But success and favor were not enough to call him into fulltime ministry, or away from his other passion, golf! Chip worked as a professional golfer for several years in the 1980’s until God made it clear He was calling him into fulltime ministry. In fact, while waiting tables at an upscale restaurant and working for the church part-time, the Lord spoke directly to him from Acts 6:2 ~ “It would not be right for us to neglect the ministry of the Word of God in order to wait on tables.”
He quit the next day.

Chip’s involvement in ministry grew from there, as the Lord led him into Young Adult ministry for five years before calling him to be a Teaching Pastor for the past decade. During that time, Chip has lead teams around the world in outreach and missions, from dramas in England to youth rallies in Barbados to mud huts in Haiti, all in an effort to win others to Christ. He speaks personably, casually, from his heart, in a way that encourages a radical belief that God is bigger and loves us more than we could ever imagine. He desires to preach exactly what the Lord lays on his heart, and to give every listener something practical they can apply to their lives today.
Outside of Chip’s passion for God, ministry and golf, he has two other passions: his lovely bride of 25 years, Bonnie, and their amazing son, Dane (all grown up).

QUESTIONS FOR CHIP
Q: What do you enjoy most about fulltime ministry?
A: I never tire of seeing God’s transformation process in the lives of people that I love and see regularly. When God’s very best is brought to bear in a human life, it just makes me smile and be glad that I get to do this for another day.
Q: What little known fact about you would surprise people to know?
A: I am naturally a raging introvert.

Q: How do you best connect with God?
A: By USB cable. Ok, not really. I love the outdoors, and am a “Creation Pathway” kinda guy, so my favorite times of connection with God are when nature is before me and I can talk to Him about it. He really did quite a job with that one.
Q: If you could really instill 360 Church with one main thing, what would it be?
A: Keep safety and security in perspective. If your life has no risk, it requires no faith.
Q: What sentence would you like God to be able to use to sum up your life?
A: “Well done, good and faithful servant. You loved Me, enjoyed Me, served Me well, and managed to avoid country music your whole life long.”
Q: If you could have one superhuman trait, what would it be?
A: I’d like to be “Super Metabolism Man”. I like cake.
Q: What makes you laugh really hard?
A: Brian Regan, watching snow-skiing wipeouts, and “Arrested Development” reruns.
Q: What do you appreciate most about your wife?
A: She smells so much better than I do. Plus, I am more impressed with her than any person on earth. I truly understand the phrase, “married up”.
Q: Why should someone reading this webpage visit 360 Church?
A: Because we show and tell people what most folks miss: That God is head-over-heels in love with them, wants them to become all that they were created to be, and that church can be sincere and fun without being stuffy or freaky.
